Baccarat Hotel New York
curated★★★★★$$$$28 West 53rd Street, New York, NY 10019
1 / 4The Baccarat does glamour the way the crystal house has always done it — maximally, unapologetically, with a chandelier wherever one might plausibly fit. Spa de La Mer continues the theme: a marble-lined pool that's become a bit of an Instagram pilgrimage, with a sauna and steam room attached for when you want to actually relax rather than be photographed. The whole floor glows. Upstairs, rooms are plush and theatrical, looking across to MoMA. It's not a place for understatement — if Aman is the monastery, this is the ballroom — but for a heat session wrapped in genuine old-fashioned opulence, it's a joy. Expect the spa heat to carry a fee or require a treatment booking, so sort that out when you reserve. Worth it for the pool alone.
